Dr. Ajay Virmani, MD, FACC

Dr. Ajay Virmani was born in New Delhi, India, moving to Flushing, New York at the age of 9 year old, where he was raised. He received his bachelor's degree in biology and religious studies from New York University. He did graduate studies and basic research in biochemistry and physiology. He received a master's degree from the City University of New York. He served with the Washington, DC Army National Guard in a M.A.S.H. (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) unit for many years.
Dr. Virmani completed medical school at George Washington University School of Medicine, where he remained for his internship and residency in internal medicine.
Dr. Virmani was trained in general cardiology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook Hospital. He gained expertise in the area of interventional cardiology at Yale University Hospital.
Dr. Virmani founded the Heart & Vascular Institute of Winchester LLC in March 2008 and the Heart and Vein Center in January 2013. He offers services in consultative cardiology, echocardiography (stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography), cardiac nuclear imaging and pacemaker therapy. He offers expertise in coronary angioplasty (high risk, rotational and directional atherectomy) and peripheral vascular angioplasty.
Dr. Virmani is board certified in interventional cardiology. He has special training in peripheral vascular disease, peripheral interventions and venous ablations.
Dr. Virmani is married to Basabi and has three children, Chetan, Priyanka and Nilesh.
